The tech called to see if they could come early which was perfect for me. The error was caused by a clogged drain line and the tech showed me how to clear the blockage in case it happened again in the future. He was very courteous and kept the work area clean
arrived on site system iced over neighbor melted as much as he could today. Tested defrost sensor it is open. If it was iced it should be closed to tell the system to melt the ice. Removed side panel it is not frozen anymore. Removed and placed deep in the ice on the system. Let sit for 5 minutes and it never closed. This sensor needs to be replaced. Once we install if the ice comes back then we potentially could need to replace the board as well. System is not operational due to ice build up.
Upon arrival I found the furnace not operating properly. I found the flame sensor needed cleaned and the motor surge capacitor needed replaced. I cleaned the flame sensor and quoted replacement costs to the customer. Customer stated they are not interested in replacing parts at this time. System is operational upon departure.
