Our A/C wasn’t cooling and I contacted Five Star heating and cooling for a repair. Our initial technician Matt was very knowledgeable about HVAC and informed us that a repair may not last and that a new unit was probably in our near future! He was absolutely correct as we had a leak in refrigerant within the next week. Five Star gave us the BEST and most fair deal on a new AC unit compared to other Columbus companies and even provided us with a portable air conditioner until our install date. I completed a diagnostic on a Carrier Heat pump. I inspected the unit and found the filter does need changed. I cleaned the condenser coil and found lots of cottonwood. I then returned the thermostat to original settings. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a repair on an A/C. I replaced the fan motor and capacitor. I then added some more refrigerant. I cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a diagnostic on a leaking A/C. I inspected the unit and found the condensate pipe from evaporator coil has broken away from evaporator coil so water was just pouring onto the floor. I repaired condensate drain. I then found system was low on refrigerant. I added more refrigerant. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
A/C Unit Service Call/ Diagnostic "No-Cool". Upon arrival found the furnace filter dirty with major debris build up causing restriction in air flow. Replaced filter with customer provided filter. All other systems are within manufactured range. System is now operating properly.
